Edwin will be talking about the design of HipHop for PHP, the open-sourced engine Facebook uses to run the Facebook PHP code.

Speaker: Edwin Smith, Facebook engineer

Edwin is a Software Engineer on the HPHP team at Facebook since March 2012. Prior to that, he was a Principal Engineer at Adobe, responsible for Flash's ActionScript3 virtual machine. He has been working on compilers and virtual machines for web languages for about 10 years, including ColdFusion, MXML (Flex), ActionScript, JavaScript, and now PHP.
