Funding the Next Big Thing

Boston Beta will kick off the first event of its Startup Strategy Series on February 2, 2012 with a discussion focused on "Funding the Next Big Thing." Each of our speakers is an investor and has worked at or founded startups before arriving at their current position.

 

       

Graham Brooks

Graham Brooks

 Graham is a principle at .406 Ventures, where he is involved in the investment and portfolio management process and leads the university outreach initiatives. Graham started his career as a software developer and consultant for ALK Associates. He then co-founded Accentus, a company specializing in technology solutions for the financial trading industry. Most recently, Graham was Business Development Manager at Bose Coporation where he led teams that identified, evaluated, and structured strategic investment and acquisition opportunities within the digital media and consumer products markets. He received his MBA from Dartmouth and has a BSE in Computer Science from Princeton University.

 



Matt Witheiler
Matt Witheiler
Matt is a Principal at Flybridge Capital Partners, which covers companies and technologies across the IT sector. He is involved in financial technology, digital media, and semiconductors at Flybridge and is a Founding Executive Committee Member of FirstGrowth Venture Network. He completed his MBA at Harvard and spent seven years in the high technology industry prior to joining Flybridge. He also served for four years as co-owner and Senior Hardware Editor of the successful hardware review website, AnandTech.com, where he helped build one of the world’s largest hardware review sites.



Dustin DolginowDustin Dolginow
 Dustin is an analyst in the Technology group at Atlas Venture. Before joining Atlas, he founded Social Swipe, an online platform for generating reviews at social venues with the swipe of a credit card. He started his career working on structured finance products in the Investment Banking Division at Lehman brothers after graduating with high honors from Middlebury College where he holds a degree in politics and a minor in economics.
