There are a lot of amazing technology companies in and around Boston. Many of them are hiring like crazy!
On our BIZZpages alone there are about 100 Boston area tech companies actively recruiting the best talent around. These companies are awesome and we want to help them show off what it's like to be a part of the team and the process a potential employee goes through to get there.
Today, we hear from the team at Waltham-based CloudLock. CloudLock is the unified cloud security fabric that let’s you protect your corporate assets in public cloud applications such as Google Apps, Salesforce, Dropbox, Box, ServiceNow and other apps.
What is it like to work at your company in terms of your culture?
Many companies confuse culture with having video games and free food. While we do have those things, our culture is really defined by our people. We are a non-hierarchical, empowered, passionate and fun loving group of people. We pride ourselves on not being limited by a “job description” and really encourage our team to have access and visibility into departments or responsibilities that in most companies they would never have access to. The people at CloudLock are passionate and incredibly dedicated to their work.
What’s the best way to get a job at CloudLock?
We like to think that all of our employees are always acting as recruiters – so don’t be shy, reach out to us! You can review our careers site, watch some of our videos, or follow us on LinkedIn, either on our careers site or on our “CloudLock Crew” page. Of course, applying directly is a great way to get seen, but we also love connecting with people directly for a more direct and honest conversation.
What can someone expect during the interview process?
A conversation that truly goes both ways! We understand that an interview is a two way process, and we believe in being as transparent and open as possible. We aren’t looking for people to “fill a job” – we are looking for people who want to learn, grow and have an impact with their careers at CloudLock.
What can people expect over the course of their career at CloudLock?
Growth – with a capital G! We are just over 90 people today, with plans to hire a lot more this year. One of the common themes we hear from our employees is how they get to do so much more here (and faster) than they would typically at most other companies. We truly look for people who are aspirational in their careers as we feel that those kinds of people really thrive in our environment.
Are there any favorite activities that the employees do outside of the office?
We have a lot of things going on in and outside of CloudLock! From in-office chin up battles and video game duels, to running teams along the Charles River, arm wrestling contests to company wide free lunch Fridays – we do a ton together as a team. We just had our company kickoff this year in Bretton Woods and enjoyed skiing, tubing and snowmobiling as a team – along with our very own “unique” style CloudLock talent show!
Are there any fun facts or unique stories that you can share about CloudLock or individuals that work there?
There are so many! A good example is our mascot, the Chicken Llama. Learn all about our mascot by watching this video!
What TV or movie would best describe the working environment and employees at CloudLock?
The Avengers! We are a bunch of individuals, all with our own unique superpowers, coming together as a team to help defeat the bad guys in the world of cloud security. Also – we are proudly geeky and love superhero movies :).
