This is going to be a H-O-T week in Boston.
No, I’m not talking about the expected heat wave.
There are some "on fire" networking events happening in the Boston tech/innovation community this week.
Check out some of the best events and some awesome opportunities to connect with key players in Boston’s innovation ecosystem.
-One really cool event taking place during this hot week is happening at a venue that doesn’t regularly host tech meetups. Tonight at 7, head to the basement at GameOn Fenway for the second Boston Sports Tech Meetup. Spogo and Fancred will in the house handing out some swag. Who knows who else may show up? (Fancred did manage to get David Ortiz involved in their TechStars demo recently.)
More info on the event here.
-The event with possibly the greatest name of any networking event on our calendar, Tech, Drugs, and Rock n’ Roll, is going down at the George Sherman Union at BU. Hosted by the BU Office of Technology Development, the event brings members of the tech and biotech/medtech communities(hence the “Drugs”) together for food, networking, and some live music featuring Brendan James. Startups will be showcased and BU Tech Development will hand out its Innovator of the Year award.
Check out more info on the event here.
-Also on Tuesday, the Boston Area B2B Startup Marketing Meetup is hosting its first “Learn from the Experts in Startup Marketing Labs” event. The event at Microsoft NERD will bring a myriad of different marketing experts together to help companies in need of marketing guidance.
More detail here.
-The Mobile+Web Developers Conference is taking place at the Hyatt Harborside on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and should feature some amazing speakers. One of the more interesting talks should be that given by Facebook’s Bear Douglas who will also be talking at a Facebook Developers Meetup later on Wednesday night.
More info on the DevCon can be found here and the Facebook meetup is here.
-There are a few cool events happening in Kendall Square on Thursday. The first is NEVCA’s Coffee Connect with a VC event that’s taking place at the CIC at 9:30. Titled, “Startup Myths: There is no Great Startup Marketing Talent in Boston,” the event feature BzzAgent’s Dave Balter and Bessemer’s Kent Bennett.
More information can be found here.
-Later on Thursday, at 5:30, MassTLC is having its Leadership Awards Reception at Microsoft NERD. Individual and Organizational finalists will be announced in a wide variety of categories.
Check here for the details.
-Back at the CIC, The Boston New Tech Meetup is holding their monthly gathering at 6. Featuring folks from Waderu and YesWare, among others, the event should be a great way to end a busy day in Kendall Square. That is, if you don’t make one final stop at Firebrand Saints or Za after the meetup.
Info on the Boston New Tech Meetup can be found here.
