A few weeks ago, we held our UX event along with NextView Ventures titled: Designing Product Experiences That Win. It featured a panel discussion with Rob Go and UX leaders from RunKeeper, InsightSquared, Hopper, & Dragon Innovation. You can catch the video from the panel here.
We also held a fireside chat with Devin Flaherty, the SVP of User Experience from Fab.com, which actually just announced a complete redesign of their site last week. You can see Fab.com's latest design here. Richard Banfield of Fresh Tilled Soil was the interviewer and walked you through Devin's journey.
Devin graduated from Stanford with a Civil Engineering degree in 2008. He moved to Boston and spent almost a year and a half working at Where.com in product management roles, until moving to NYC in 2012 to be with his now fiancée.
Since joining Fab.com, Devin career trajectory at the company is the exact reason why working at a startup makes sense for career driven & motivated individuals. About four months after joining the company as a Sr. Product Manager, he was promoted to SVP of User Experience for one of the fastest growing eCommerce sites in the world and he now runs a global team of UX professional.
Check out the video below to hear more about his story, his beliefs around design / UX, how Fab.com got started and why design is so "core" to the company.
