The 2nd annual Entrepreneur Games are happening June 19th at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. The event raised $46,000 in 2013 and it is hosted by BUILD Boston, in partnership with TUGG, Plastiq, RaceMenu, Silicon Valley Bank, MassChallenge, Techstars, T3 Advisors, NEVCA and Constant Contact.
The games, which consist of both athletic and “brain” games, are a competition amongst 600 entrepreneurs, investors and community supporters from over 100 companies in the tech / startup community in Boston & Cambridge. There are over 20 athletic and non-athletic games participants can compete in including 3-legged races, rhythmic gymnastics, cornhole toss, several running events, hula-hoop and many more. A little something for everyone.
You must sign up as a team to participate and the team can consist of anywhere between 5-40 members who can each participate in as many games as they want. Teams of 40 get to choose the country they’d like to represent.
10 "countries" will compete for the gold. Last year Team USA (led by SVB, Atlas and RunKeeper) were the victors. Each country is 40 people and comprises of either a VC and their portfolio co's, community supporters (such as law firms / banks) and their clients, individual companies (e.g., Hubspot), or community organizations / incubators (e.g., NEVN, MassChallenge).
Again, there is definitely something for everyone - even those not competing (over 200 spectators are expected). There will be 10+ food vendors, beer & photo stations, performances and music! You’ll be entertained all day. The games will be extremely entertaining and are a great way for companies to build camaraderie amongst their teams.
TUGG & BUILD Boston could use your help reaching their goal of $80,000 by either competing or coming out to support and cheer on the competitors. Spectator tickets are just $25 and team registration starts at $300 for a team of 5. Sponsorships are also still available and would go a long way in helping attain that 80k mark!
With bragging rights among the Boston tech / startup community up for grabs, don’t miss out on this opportunity to prove you recruited the best team in Boston.
