Founder Dialogues featuring Mick Mountz of Kiva Systems (Video)

Tuesday Jul 20, 2010 by Keith Cline - Founder, VentureFizz

On June 22nd, Eric Paley of Founder Collective hosted his second Founder Dialogues event.  This event's guest speaker was Mick Mountz, CEO and Founder of Kiva Systems.  We are very excited to have the video from this event down below.

Kiva Systems, based in Woburn, is a developer of game-changing mobile-robotic solutions that automate order fulfillment and warehouse operations.  Their robots automate warehouses for major companies like Staples, Zappos, Diapers.com, Crate & Barrel, Diapers.com, etc.

Like the first Founder Dialogues event, this discussion was another inspiring story that every entrepreneur should hear.  There are so many lessons learned from this discussion, as Eric touches upon a variety of key elements:

  • Mick's background (MIT, Motorola, Harvard Business School, Apple, Webvan)
  • How Mick became an entrepreneur & started Kiva
  • Raising capital and growing the company (landing customers, etc)

This is an excellent example of an entrepreneur... with an idea... whose passion, intelligence, hard work and appetite for risk... created the 6th fastest growing company on the Inc. 500 list in 2009.

A special thank you to Eric Paley and Nathalie Bishop of Founder Collective for allowing us to publish this great event on VentureFizz.  We also want to thank Chris Carroll from VisibleGains for his help with everything.

We hope you enjoy the video!  And....please make sure you pass it along and share it with others!
