It’s quite a week for anniversaries: as VentureFizz celebrates its fifth birthday we have released the schedule for the eighth edition of Business of Software (15th-17th September), one of Boston’s best loved conferences. To celebrate we have a special offer for VentureFizz readers.
So what were we doing as VentureFizz got off the ground? Well, five years ago we were welcoming Geoffrey (Crossing the Chasm) Moore, Kathy Sierra, Joel Spolsky and Paul Graham to share their thoughts on what it takes to grow a successful software company. You can find their talks – and more - in our BoS library here.
This year’s schedule has an equally amazing line up of new speakers (more on that in a bit) but as importantly BoS is going back to its roots as a meeting place for anyone growing a great software business to come, learn and share experiences. Protecting time in the diary of some of the busiest people in the world, so they can rise above the day to day fire fighting and compare notes with those ahead of them and those coming up behind. For three days founders can find advice and support from one of the best connected communities in the tech industry.
We’ve bought together new speakers and new topics – founders like Rand Fishkin, Chris Savage, Des Traynor, Alicia Navarro and Joel Gascoigne who can share their successes and mistakes, practical tactics in crucial areas such as recruitment, customer conversion, product strategy, optimization and leadership.
They come mixed up with a packed schedule of networking activity to help you find the people you need to talk to, whether you are trying to get a new business area off the ground in a large corporate, or bootstrapping your first product.
If your diary is already busy for Business of Software, but you would like to get some more targeted assistance with specific topics, we are running workshops with a number of the speakers on the afternoon of Wednesday 17th September.
Delegates for these workshops will also get a pass for the awesome Business of Software party at the Whiskey Priest on Monday 15th, plus early access videos of all the talks from BoS2014.
