What does entrepreneurship mean to you? To Angus, entrepreneurship means... "it's like a pair of eyeglasses, except instead of seeing the world as it is, when you have the eyeglasses on..., you see the world as it could be."
This is a great video featuring Angus Davis from this year's Business Innovation Factory (BIF-7) event. Angus is a serial entrepreneur, who spent many years in the Bay Area as an early employee of Netscape and then he co-founded Tellme Networks, which was acquired by Microsoft for ~$800M. As a native of Rhode Island, he is now working on his latest startup (this time based in Providence) called Swipely.
This video takes you through his professional journey as an early member of the Netscape team, starting Tellme Networks, market ups & downs, learning about failure, and figuring out what enables entrepreneurs to take risks.
BIF is an annual event held in Providence and features many speakers who share their "stories" about personal discovery, innovation, and transformation. Next year's event is already scheduled for Sept 19th & 20th 2012. Details here.
