On Monday evening, key members of the Boston tech and innovation community will be gathering at the Westin Copley for the Tenth Annual MITX Innovation Awards.
Many of the companies up for awards have been featured in VentureFizz over the past year or have participated in VentureFizz events. Many more will be featured in the coming months; some sooner than later. We wish them all good luck on Monday.
Here are a few of the most recent features on Innovation Award nominated companies:
Celtra - The mobile advertising company updated its AdCreator product this year, adding video ad analytics capabilities. They are nominated for “Most Innovative Ad Technology.”
Cloze - The social media organizer is up for two awards on Monday night. A “noise-canceling inbox for email, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter,” Cloze is nominated in the “Best Mobile” category as well as “Best Consumer Tech That Makes Life Easier.”
InsightSquared - Sam Clemens, InsightSquare’s Co-Founder, was a panelist at VentureFizz’s jointly held even with General Assembly, “The State of Product Management.” They are up for the award in the “Most Insightful: Big Data and Analytics Innovation” category.
Gazelle -The company’s CMO, Sarah Welch, was a panelist at VentureFizz’s “Scaling to 1M Users” event. Known for their iPhone/mobile buyback program, Gazelle is nominated as one of the “Best ‘Doing Good’ Innovations.”
Nyopoly - The price negotiating company is nominated in the “Best Innovation from a Bootstrapped Company” award.
SpringPad - SpringPad’s Brian Carr was also a panelist at the “Scaling to 1M Users” discussion, and a very insightful one at that. SpringPad is also nominated for “Best Consumer Tech That Makes Life Easier.”
Timbre - The live music search app wowed audiences at almost every event at which they were featured. One the highlights of last year was Mark Kasdorf’s live negotiations with Dave Balter and Fred Destin at the MITX FutureM Shark Tank. People love Timbre’s design, no wonder they are up for “Best UX 2013.”
The entire list of finalists can be found at the MITX Innovation Awards event page.
Hosted by Jodi Beggs, Monday’s Innovation Awards will celebrate the best and brightest of the local tech and innovation community. In addition to the award ceremony, Akamai Technology’s Dr. Tom Leighton will be inducted into MITX’s Innovation Hall of Fame.
Tickets are still available here for the event.
